The Opportunity:
CACI at Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is looking for a Data Scientist to expand our maintenance detection algorithms for Boeing F/A-18 aircrafts. Your expertise will enhance the Navy’s F/A-18 fleet readiness by developing case studies and anomaly detection algorithms for aircraft maintenance actions.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various aircraft sensors, maintenance logs, and operational data.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards to ensure maintainability and long-term performance of applications.
- Preform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in aircraft performance and maintenance data.
- Design and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual behaviors in aircraft data.
- Develop machine learning models to detect component failures or malfunctions.
- Collaborate with Aerospace Engineers, Software Engineers, Maintenance Personnel, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 0-3 years of job experience.
- Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clerance.
Desired:
Active DoD Secret Clerance.
CompTIA Security + Certification.
Experience with PowerBI and SQL.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$66,700 - $133,300
