Description -
What a College Intern - Data Science does at HP:
- Work with an enterprising team of engineers to digitally accelerate operations and provide solutions to track, analyze and visualize the manufacturing operations and outbound quality of our products.
- Design, build and maintain data infrastructure, pipelines and architecture to support data-driven initiatives.
- Develop data models, create robust processes and ensure data quality and security.
- Ability to work with AWS tools, such as S3, SageMaker, Lambda, Glue and Redshift.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation for systems, processes, codebases and workflows.
- Generate actionable insights through the analysis of data and understanding of operational processes.
- Develop methodologies for optimizing our business processes through data visualization, real-time monitoring, predictive analytics etc.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Industrial Engineering.
- Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027.
- Strong programming knowledge in languages such as Python or Java and expertise with SQL databases.
- Analytical thinking, ability to understand operations processes and interested in performing root cause analysis for effective problem solving.
- Possesses knowledge in statistics and probability.
- Good visualization skills in creating real-time dashboards and charts, ability to highlight trends and provide insights.
