Business Data Analyst I

Andrew Morgan is a fast-growing Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and HUBZone SB. We are currently seeking a qualified Business Data Analyst I to join our team supporting a Senior Finance Organization within the DoD.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Data Analyst to support a Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) initiative within a large-scale health IT portfolio. In this role, you will help connect teams across FP&A, ORSA and Cost Estimation with the program and product data they need to do their work effectively.

You will play an important part in keeping portfolio data accurate, consistent and on time, helping analytical teams stay focused on strategy and decision-making rather than chasing down information. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys bringing order to complex data environments and building collaborative working relationships across teams.

This is not a traditional reporting-only role. You will have the opportunity to contribute across data coordination, quality review, stakeholder engagement and operational support.

Data Collection & Coordination

• Act as a central point of contact for portfolio data requests

• Work with subject matter experts to gather financial, operational and program data

• Help track timelines, follow up on outstanding requests and flag items that need attention

• Monitor the status of data collection activities across the portfolio

Data Management & Validation

• Maintain data request trackers and organized repositories

• Review incoming data for completeness and consistency

• Prepare and organize data for use by FP&A, ORSA and Cost Estimation teams

• Help standardize templates and data collection processes over time

Analytical & Operational Support

• Assist analytical teams with data preparation and normalization

• Help identify gaps in reporting and data quality

• Contribute to dashboards and status reports for leadership and stakeholders

• Document data sources, assumptions and reporting structures

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build positive working relationships with program and product teams

• Help streamline data requests to reduce the burden on subject matter experts

• Identify recurring data challenges and bring them to the attention of senior team members

• Support efforts to address ongoing reporting and collection issues

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field

• 2 to 6 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, operations support or program coordination

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Comfortable working with large datasets and multiple data sources

• Proficiency in Excel and data organization techniques

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders

SALARY:

Salary is commensurate with both location and experience.
