The Reality Labs Wireless Team is looking for research interns who have a deep understanding of wireless technology to drive the state-of-the-art for AR/VR products.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be working with the Wireless and cross functional teams to develop new wireless technologies.
- You will be responsible for researching, developing and prototyping wireless sensing modalities in AR/VR devices.
- Support the design of hardware prototypes and data collection studies.
- Apply signal processing and machine learning tools to analyze datasets.
- Develop demonstrations to cross-functional teams.
- Communicate results to a wide range of audiences.
Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on wireless technology, e.g., Antenna / Electromagnetics, RF / Microwave, Wireless System, Signal Processing, Wireless Sensing
- Coursework or hands-on experience in at least one of the following: Intro to ML (Machine Learning) and Fundamentals of AI/ Natural language processing
- Experience with software development in Matlab, Python, or equivalent
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- 4+ years of experience in research
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Intent to return to full-time degree program after completion of the internship Ability to communicate complex research in a clear, concise and actionable manner
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications
- Familiarity building AI tools and agentic workflows to automate hardware development
- Familiarity with AR, MR platforms
