Overview
The Sustainability Managed Alerts Analyst I provides operational and administrative support for utility data management and alert-monitoring activities. This role is responsible for performing routine, transaction-based tasks, validating information, researching discrepancies, maintaining records, and ensuring timely completion of assigned work. The analyst follows established processes, procedures, and guidelines while exercising sound judgment in resolving routine issues and escalating non-standard situations when appropriate. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day, and effective communication skills. Work is performed under moderate supervision with guidance available for complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate energy consumption and cost data to identify and resolve billing, rate, or usage discrepancies.
- Review routine utility financial reports and prepare simple written variance analyses based on existing templates.
- Review and validate utility rate and tariff structures for energy and water accounts using established guidelines. Respond to routine client and utility provider inquiries and common questions.
- Escalate unusual situations and exceptions to senior analysts or supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience, education or training in the area of Engineering, Sustainability, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business applications.
- Ability to use spreadsheets and perform basic functions such as sorting, filtering, and data validation.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to follow processes, procedures, and guidelines while exercising good judgment within established parameters.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data review and entry.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on routine assignments and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Customer service skills with the ability to handle routine inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and business practices.
