Our team is responsible for onboarding data layers into TomTom's Operational Data Store (ODS) — the platform that delivers map data to TomTom's products and customers. We build the tooling, pipelines, and supervision systems that source, transform, validate, and serve this data reliably at scale. As an intern, you will join a team of 9 engineers in a hybrid setup and contribute to a hands-on AI project: building an internal AI agent that helps the team and our stakeholders get answers and support faster.
What you'll do :
• You will contribute to the design and development of an internal AI agent / bot that helps team members and stakeholders with support questions.
• You will work with modern AI tooling (LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation) and integrate it with our existing platforms.
• You will help build and improve the supporting tooling around the agent (data ingestion, evaluation, deployment, monitoring).
• You will participate in team activities: stand-ups, refinement, code reviews, and pair programming.
• You will explore and research extensions, identify gaps in existing processes, and propose improvements.
• You will contribute to documentation so that your work is easy to maintain and extend after the internship.
What you'll need :
• You are a student in IT / Computer Science / Engineering / Programming or a related field.
• You are an EU citizen or enrolled in a Polish university for the entire duration of the internship (at least 6 months starting July).
• Willing to commute to our TomTom office in Łódź at least twice a week.
• You have knowledge of coding in Java and/or Python.
• You have a basic understanding of CI/CD processes.
• You have basic knowledge of public cloud platforms.
• You have familiarity with tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Comfortable with written and verbal communication in English.
• You have an analytical mindset and enthusiasm to solve complex problems.
• Desire to learn and expand your skill set.
• You have good communication skills and enjoy teamwork.
Nice to have:
• Exposure to AI / LLM-based tooling (prompt engineering, agent frameworks, RAG, vector stores).
• Experience with Python AI/ML libraries.
• Familiarity with chatbot or internal-support tooling.
• Hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (AWS / Azure / GCP).
