Business Unit
WeiXin Group(WXG) is responsible for the construction and operation of the Weixin ecosystem and leveraging Weixin's open platforms such as Official Accounts, Mini Programs, Weixin Pay, WeCom and search function. WXG provides solutions and connectivity for intelligent upgrades across all industries. WXG is also responsible for the development and operation of QQ Mail, WeRead and other products.
What the Role Entails
About the Internship
WeChat’s internships provide paid, full-time opportunities lasting a minimum of 12 weeks. Interns will be mentored by senior members of the WeChat operations team and work hands-on in developing new projects and product features. By the end of the internship, participants will have gained a deep understanding of WeChat’s values, independently executed data-driven projects, and collaborated effectively across multiple departments, including product, engineering, and legal teams.

Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to identify business opportunities and optimize product performance.
- Develop data dashboards and visualization tools to track key performance metrics and provide actionable product insights.
- Assist in building scalable data pipelines to support WeChat’s operational needs and enhance platform security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate analytical findings into business strategies.
- Support high-impact machine learning and multimodal AI initiatives that strengthen WeChat's core product experience.
- Contribute to risk modeling and safety strategies that safeguard users and protect WeChat's platform integrity.
Who We Look For
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (knowledge of C/C++/Go is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong sense of ownership, customer-oriented mindset, and integrity.
- Fast learner and effective team player with excellent communication skills.
- Prior internship or work experience in the tech or internet industry is preferred.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin is required, as the role regularly involves participating in meetings and reviewing written materials in both languages with global teams and with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders at our headquarters in China..
