This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Investment Systems: Trading and Compliance team is responsible for the development and support of trading and compliance systems across all asset classes, providing customized, performant, and scalable technology solutions which support high transactional volumes for the business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and integration of various technology solutions, including the development of our proprietary trading and compliance systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the design and implementation of high-quality scalable and robust technical solutions across all layers of application development, including APIs, application logic, performance, reliability, persistence, tests, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Assist in integrating solutions within the development organization, including code libraries, build automation, test automation, API conventions, and cloud architecture patterns.
• Build knowledge across various technologies while developing an understanding of best practices and core technical concepts.
• Collaborate across teams to understand and support the delivery of shared solutions
• Follow and support high standards for development maintainability, performance, and correctness.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
SKILL SET
Required Experience: 0-3 years
Primary Skills
• Hands-on ava/J2EE design and development experience.
• Understanding of core language features (interfaces, generics, annotations, reflection, closures, etc.).
• Exposure to major open source frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Familiarity with containers such as Docker.
• Experience or exposure to building web-based user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, and JSON (knowledge of ExtJS is a plus).
• Understanding of test driven development concepts and tools such as, JUnit
• Knowledge of RDBMS and SQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Exposure to agile development practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and tools like Gradle and GitLab.
• Basic Understanding of SOA, AOP, and common design patterns.
• Familiarity with application servers such as Tomcat.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborates with business users and other developers.
• Interest in AI and related technologies, with a willingness to learn how to apply them in a business or technical context
• Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity to learn, and high integrity in a collaborative team environment
Good to Have Skills
• Exposure to Financial services industry
• Cloud experience is a plus, AWS preferred
